Easy, Healthy Morning Smoothie

Blending up a healthy smoothie takes less than 5 minutes.

Drinking smoothies in the morning fill me up and inspire healthy choices the rest of the day.

Here are some healthy ingredients to have on hand. Take a few extra minutes one day a week to cut fruit so you're ready to go in the morning.

  • Almond Butter
  • Almond Milk or Rice Milk
  • Bananas (organic)
  • Blueberries (fresh or frozen organic)
  • Cocoa Powder (pure, organic)
  • Ground Flax Seed
  • Kiwi
  • Mango
  • NingXia Red (or Chinese wolfberries) (Young Living)
  • Pineapple
  • Raspberries (fresh or frozen organic)
  • Strawberries (fresh or frozen organic)
  • Water (purified)
  • Yogurt (plain, organic)
What's in your morning smoothie? I'd love to read your recipe. Comment and share your recipe here.

I find morning smoothies are a good way to get kids their fruit. I do bananas, frozen strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries that we picked over the summer, and yogurt. Ava loves the pink color !

Here is my favorite recipe for a morning smoothie:
I make my own almond milk by pureeing 1/3 cup of almonds with 1 cup of water. Add water slowly to get best results. I then add a handful of pumpkin seeds, a spoonful of flax seed, a cup of whatever organic frozen fruit I have on hand and a banana. I always add a couple leaves of chard, kale or spinach and/or some frozen broccoli. My three year old loves this and even though he eats his veggies, its a great way to get in even more greens.
